Founded in 1963, the Ann Arbor Film Festival is the oldest experimental film festival in North America and one of the premier platforms for independent and avant-garde cinema. Held annually in March, the festival attracts over 3,000 film submissions from more than 70 countries and awards over $20,000 in cash prizes. The festival showcases experimental, documentary, animated, and narrative films, celebrating bold, innovative filmmaking and providing a launchpad for emerging directors.
