About

Annual horror filmmaking competition based in Metro Detroit, Michigan. Established by Erik Steele, Terri Steele, and Brandon Mata, the competition challenges filmmakers to create a five-minute horror film within four weeks. Each team is assigned a specific horror subgenre determined by spinning the "Wheel of Horror" at the kickoff event. The top 25 films are showcased at a premiere event at Emagine Theatres in Royal Oak. Awards include a $2,000 Grand Prize, plus certificates for Audience Choice, Scariest Film, Best Directing, Best Writing, Best Cinematography, Best Editing, Best Original Score, Best Performance, Best Makeup, and Best Use of Genre.
